Adventurous! Educational! Exciting! Fun-Filled! SECPTA Field Trips are meant to bring out the "explorers" in both adults and children as we experience a wide variety of new and exciting things together. These activities present children and parents with amazing opportunities to do new things, make lots of new friends, and fill those empty days with some low-cost/free entertainment. 2/10 (FRI) BRICKS FOR KIDS
A fun and educational program where kids get to build unique creations, play games, and have loads of fun using Lego bricks. Kids get to take home a Lego necklace. Maximum of 30 kids.

2/13 (MON) SOLON CENTER FOR THE ARTS
Come enjoy making a Valentines Day craft with us. Limit is 12 children per time slot.

2/15 (WED) DONATOS PIZZA
Come celebrate Valentines Day with us! We are having a pizza party and will be doing a craft. Maximum of 20 kids.

2/16 (THUR) WESTWOODS NATURE CENTER
Join us for the newest large exhibit “Snowbelted, Winters a Blast” at The West Woods Nature Center, a rousing celebration of all things winter weather.
Time: 12:00-1:30pm (We have a room reserved, so you can bring a lunch to enjoy before the exhibit tour)

2/16 (THUR) BOWLING AT FREEWAY LANES
It’s bowling time! Join us for some fun at the bowling alley. No limit for this trip.

2/20 (MON) YES I CAN KARATE
Come have your children try a karate class with Sensei Sam. He will demonstrate how to use the Martial Arts as the vehicle to empower individuals to know they can be successful in whatever they wish to do. Through the Martial Arts he instills self-discipline, a sense of self-worth, self-esteem, and self-confidence.

2/23 (THURS) CLEVELAND RAINFOREST & ANIMAL OUTREACH SHOW
With the weather sure to take a turn for the worst soon, why not warm up inside the Rainforest at the Cleveland Zoo. There are many great animals to see and a great time of the year to go. The Rainforest also has a cafe so you could pack a lunch or buy it there. An additional touch to this field trip, is a special program being put on by the Zoo's Outreach program. Starting at 1PM there will be a special program for SECPTA members only in the Reinberger Education Building. This program will entail the children getting an up close encounter with a smaller zoo animal and learning about it. The program is 1 hour long. There is no limit for this trip

2/25 (SAT) LEARN TO SKI AT ALPINE VALLEY
SECPTA is thrilled to offer a Learn to Ski event at Alpine Valley! This event is best suited for children 4 years and up. Open to 15 children.
NOTES: Do not overdress kids in the car on the way; Date subject to final confirmation; Bring a few extra $ to relax with hot cocoa in the lodge afterwards!
Time: 10:30am (families need to arrive 30-40 minutes before scheduled start time)

2/28 (TUES) AMERICAN BOUNCERS
Come and bounce all that winter energy away! Enjoy a warm day inside and let your children climb, jump and play. Please don’t forget socks!! Check your calendars as this is also a day some preschools are closed. This trip is open to 40 children.

3/2 (FRI) STORYTIME AND CRAFT AT THE SOLON LIBRARY
Come join us for storytime and then we’ll make a craft. This is open to a maximum of 20 children.

3/7 (WED) SCHWEBEL’S BAKERY IN SOLON
Come and smell the bread baking!! Welcome to the Schwebel's Bakery Tour! This is where Schwebel’s time-tested, old-world recipes meet state-of-the-art equipment! After a guided tour here in our local Solon bakery, each child will receive a free loaf of homemade bread! Yummy!! Maximum of 24 people per tour.

3/8 (THURS) CHUCK E CHEESE
Let’s get out of the cold and play some games! Join us for a pizza lunch and an afternoon of arcade games and fun. The cost per child includes 2 slices of pizza, unlimited fountain drinks and 16 tokens for playing (all games are guaranteed to only cost 1 token). Additional food for adults can be paid for that day. This trip is limited to 20 children.

3/9 (FRI) AKRON ZOO ANIMAL ENCOUNTER
Living Things – Explore the differences between living things and non-living things and get to meet and greet some live animals. This program cost does not include entrance to the zoo. If you decide to stay and visit the zoo it is $6 for non-members. Minimum of 10 and max of 30 kids. Suitable for 3 yrs. and up.
