Adventurous! Educational! Exciting! Fun-Filled! SECPTA Field Trips are meant to bring out the "explorers" in both adults and children as we experience a wide variety of new and exciting things together. These activities present children and parents with amazing opportunities to do new things, make lots of new friends, and fill those empty days with some low-cost/free entertainment. 5/7 (MON) Chagrin falls park and popcorn shop
Come and enjoy the beautiful weather in Chagrin Falls. Bring your picnic lunch, feed the ducks and play at the park. The kids will be treated to an ice cream cone from the Popcorn Shop for dessert. Duck food and a single scoop provided by SECPTA. This is limited to 30 kids.

5/10 (thur) PLAYMATTERS – PAINT A BIRDHOUSE
It’s Spring and almost Mother’s Day! Let’s make your mom a real birdhouse! It’s a wooden birdhouse with five different colors of paint to choose from as you create your own design. After you are done with your creation, you can hang your bird house on a tree and watch the birds fly in and out of it! Limit of 15 children

5/15 (TUES) CRAZY BUT TRUE (POPCORN SHOP)
If you haven't been to this store, you are in for a real treat! This popcorn shop has over 30 flavors of popcorn from "Dill Pickle" to "Kettle Corn" to plain old "Buttered Popcorn". Lynn will give us a tour of the shop, let the kids help in making a batch of popcorn, and the children will of course get popcorn and juice to enjoy! Ages 3-5 and limit of 20 children!

5/17 (THUR) BREEZEWOOD GARDENS
Time for the kids to get out their green thumb! Kids will use all of their senses during a tour of the garden center. Come smell the roses, touch a leaf, and see the bright colors. Each child will get to plant a flower in a pot and take it home. We will also provide a drink. Maximum of 20 kids.

5/19 (SAT) WAGON TRAILS
Join us for an African safari right here in Ohio! Knowledgeable safari guides narrate your tour through 60 acres of woods, ponds, and animals. Feed and touch camel, bison, zebra, water buffalo, wildebeest, ostrich, antelope, deer, and cattle. A petting zoo is available after our ride. 25 cents will get you a cone filled with zoo food for miniature donkeys, llamas, kangaroos, and peacocks. A bit of a drive (approx. 50 minutes) but well worth it and appropriate for babies up to grandparents. Take the whole family! There is an indoor picnic area if you would like to bring a packed lunch to enjoy after the activities. We must have a minimum of 25 attending for the group rate. Maximum of 60 people.

5/20 (SUN) LAKE COUNTY CAPTAINS VS. LANSING LUGNUTS
Come join us for a day at the Ballpark! Ready to hear the sound of the crack of the bat and fans cheering? The Lake County Captains game is a great opportunity for some family bonding time. Sunday afternoon games are perfect for the kids since they can stay for autographs and get to run the bases after the game. Definitely a fun time for the whole family. No limit for this trip.

The Nature Center overlooks Sanctuary Marsh, where native plants create a fine wetland community attracting a host of waterfowl, mammals, insects, reptiles, amphibians, songbirds and shorebirds. Marsh wildflowers bloom throughout the spring and summer. In this Cleveland Metroparks program, children will explore the marvels of nature around the pond and marsh through the use of their senses.This program is designed to expand and encourage a child’s sense of wonder. Limited to 20 children.

5/30 (WED) STEVENS PUPPETS PERFORM BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
SECPTA members are in for a special treat. Stevens Puppets is in their 75th year of bringing fairy tales to life through the use of marionette puppets. These fully jointed marionette puppets are professionally hand crafted, hand painted, and will perform on a beautiful stage created just for them. The masterful puppeteers bring the puppets to life in the classic Beauty and the Beast show. This field trip is perfect for all children up to age 8!! After the show, the children will be able to get an up close look at the puppets! If we do not have enough people sign up, we will have to cancel due to the cost.
